In a year in which the entire world had experienced a major economic downturn, many of my clients feel more somber than usual this holiday season. If the lights seem not to twinkle quite as bright this year, stop and spend some time reviewing the amazing gifts that surround you.

If you have your health, you should be thankful. If you are a member of a loving family and have good friends, you have cause to celebrate. And if you are employed and have the ability to contribute to society, you should rejoice.

The one side benefit of an economic downturn is that it gives everyone the opportunity to refocus on that is really important in our lives. It will never be the next dollar. Instead, it will be the people who populate our lives and make them richer. And for those people we should rejoice.
