Make Time Now

November 04, 2009

Almost all signs indicate that the economy has improved dramatically over the past several months. Though no one is certain how quickly the nation will move into full recovery mode, odds are all of us will be much busier in the upcoming year.

While every employee eagerly awaits the uptick in business, I suspect many workers may find the adjustment to a bustling economy something of a shock. For nearly a year now, many have been able to leave jobs at reasonable hours and set aside more time for family and friends. The economic turn-around may well put a crimp on what has become their new normal.

Employers would be well advised to use the remainder of 2009 to encourage their workers to build some strong time management skills. As the economy continues to pick-up, those skills will become critical to a successful 2010.
