Adieu 2009

December 16, 2009

This is the last time I will update my blog in 2009. What a year it has been.

To those of you who managed to weather the Great Recession of 2009 with little to no affect, be grateful. Scores of talented and competent people lost jobs this year through no fault of their own. As the recovery continues, never forget how very lucky you have felt to have a job.

To those of you who lost jobs during the previous year, it’s time to develop your game plan for 2010 and remain positive. All reports indicate that unemployment will begin to dwindle throughout the upcoming months. Use the remaining weeks of this year to prepare yourself to re-enter a marketplace that eventually will need your skills. Reconnect with members of your network.

To everyone, now is a good time to look around and realize that no matter what your work situation may be, there are others who are much less fortunate. Tonight, not far from where you are reading this e-mail, someone will go to bed hungry and others will sleep without shelter. Remember those who are less fortunate than you.

This year, more than ever, it’s important that we rejoice in all the blessings we have and to share those blessings with others.

Wishing all of you the happiest of holidays!
